Chlorine Taste in Water - Municipal Water
CHLORINE IN YOUR DRINKING WATER
Chlorine is added to municipal water and water in storage tanks. The chlorine is added to kill all germs and bacteria that could be harmful to us. However, this spoils the taste and smell of your water. Also, the amount that is added to the water fluctuates, making your water smell and taste even worse at times.
In the long run, the consumption of chlorine can be damaging to your health. The Disinfectant by-products of Chlorine are Carcogenic. Research is still being done but problems such as an increase in Cancer and Heart problems have been connected to the use of chlorine in drinking water. Chlorine is effective in killing germs and bacteria, but should be removed from the water before consumption.
Water filters currently provide the easiest and quickest solution to the problems related to Chlorination. They are uniquely designed to work with municipally treated water. Drinking filtered water is much more economical than drinking bottled water.
The filtration process involves sediment filters and Carbon made from Coconut shell through which the water flows. This filter media blocks the passage of the contaminants through the processes of physical obstruction and chemical adsorption. During the chemical process of adsorption, contaminants are encouraged to break their bond with water molecules and chemically adhere to the filter media.
We recommend the following products as a solution to chlorine in your water:
